Best Village Competition

Emphasis is being placed on community participation for Vincy Homecoming 2009. As we approach our 30th year of independence, we reflect on what makes us truly "Vincy": our culture, heritage, traditions, entrepreneurial spirit etc. As we search for the common thread, it must be noted that our greatest resource is our people.

We are convinced that for true development to take place in our country, we have to place more emphasis on our human resources participation in the communities where they live. For those reason, we view local communities participation as an integral part of Vincy Homecoming 2009. As such, activities must be planned that will engender a feeling of participation in those communities. One such activity is the Best Village Competition which can serve a two-fold purpose. First, as mentioned before, it can provide our communities with a sense of partnership in our homecoming activities; and second it can foster, revive and strengthen a sense of community spirit and by extension national pride.

Whether as one individual or one community, your involvement in community organization, your involvement in community development can make a significant difference in our neighborhoods, and by extension the district and this country that we all love. One thing that is know for sure is that community partnerships and outreach programme are ingredients for the successful development of any community.
